As you probably noticed, it has been a long time since we last spoke. Well, that’s because a lot has been going on for the last month or so. Yes, it’s true: Stan and Terry are toast. Though we still don’t know what WCKG is going to flip to, it isn’t going to be a talk station anymore. Steve Dahl and Co. are going to WJMK-FM to handle morning duties. Garry Meier is out. Stan Lawrence and Terry Armour are out. Matt Dahl and Brendan Greeley are out.

First of all, Stan and I appreciate all the love we have gotten from the listeners in what has been a roller coaster of a ride of a career at WCKG. Only recently, when Garry came onboard, did we really feel as if things were going in the right direction. The fact of the matter is that the Rover experiment didn’t work. He was our lead-in for seven months. Then Opie and Anthony never really caught on. They were our lead-in for a brief spell. Then we kept getting our midday slot fiddled with—once interrupted by Jim Cramer for an hour; another time making way for Penn Jillette to lead in to Steve’s show.

When we finally got our footing—with the help of Garry’s arrival—we were able to make some headway. Like Garry, our ratings had tripled before we got the axe. We believe if they had just left things the way they were, with Garry, us and Steve and Matt, we could have done some great things. It didn’t work out that way. Stan and I enjoyed what we were doing and enjoyed building an audience.

The ratings prove that things were clicking. We don’t know what our next move will be but if you just stay tuned to this spot, we will let you know when we know. We firmly believe that we had something good. We’ll be somewhere.
