One Last Time
One last time we'll spend our days talking about OJ Simpson - again
One last time we'll reach the high 80's this year
One last time I'll eat ice cream routinely as the sun goes down
One last time I say "Where did the summer go?"
One last time no heat, no a/c just an open window
One last time I'll type one last time
The pool on my roof closed this weekend (at 12:00am no less), the fireworks are over on Saturday nights downtown - yes, I was home watching them from my window ... so? The fall sales have started, one store I shopped at even enticed shoppers by cookies and brownies, damn them, now the clothes won't fit my regularly flat stomach (ha ha) Even Terry has stopped wearing his shiny shoes for the season, thankfully no more linen shirts too :) I hate when football starts because I like baseball being the ONLY sport to watch. I went to one of the best Cub games ever last night. Last inning rally, it doesn't get any better. But wait, it just did, Terry promised to take me to every post-season game!! So now the Cubs HAVE to make it.
Someone once told me that this is the time of year that guys start looking for their mates to hibernate with for the long winter, so that's on my mind too. I've noticed a lot of couples kissing/hugging/making out on the streets. Three nice people told me they have potential guys for me to keep warm with this winter, but then they all just happened to forget about it. So, it's going to be a lot of hot chocolate and thick socks for me. That was Stan and Terry's stripper names "Hot Chocolate" and "Thick Socks". Figure out which one was which.
