IT'S NOT GOODBYE, IT'S SEE YOU LATER

Do they say good or bad news travels fast? Either way the news is out there and that means that WCKG will no longer be the WCKG that I've called home for 5 years. Unfortunately the 'suits' have decided that a FM all-talk station isn't what Chicagoans want and our little mid-day show is kaput. I've been lucky enough to work with a lot of talented people on WCKG, and I really enjoyed each show for different reasons. The last two years with Stan and Terry, even with the crazy time slot changes and changing lead-ins, have been fun, funny, and I think good quality radio. They truly are two guys just sitting around and talking about their lives ("Terry Armour doesn't wait in line") , their past experiences (Stan's craziness by torturing his teachers), and still have time to make some of the biggest Hollywood and local celebs and politicians laugh with them and at themselves. I really think the show hit its stride this past year (and apparently the listeners agreed) which it makes it that much sadder that we have to say goodbye. The season is changing, the Bears are sucking, the Cubs blew another chance, and I'm still single, some things never change, but good radio is good radio and I hope to work in this industry for a long time.
