I wish I had as exciting news as Britney Spear's teenage pregnant sister. Being 16 and pregnant is pretty stupid, but at least it's interesting. My life? Not so much. I got a part time job as an associate news producer at WBBM 780 AM. That's been going on for about 3 weeks. It's weird to have my very next job after WCKG in the same building, just on a different floor. I feel like I'm living a weird rerun of my old life, but get lost some where in the translation. It turns out that news radio is very demanding and intense. The Spears story would have been a lot of great fodder on the Stan and Terry Show, but I wonder whether if it will show up on WBBM.

I met up with Stan, Terry, and Chris, our audio guy, at ROCKITS Bar last Thursday night for some cocktails (Stan 0, Terry about 4, but whose keeping track??!?) We had a few celebrity sightings, well besides Terry Armour himself, we also saw FRIENDS star David Schwimmer dining with bar owner Billy Dec and Mayor Daley and his wife. Then a few tables over we saw half of the band Duran Duran, quite a high for me since I was a huge fan as a kid. It was great to sit and talk with the guys. We discussed all the news since the show has been off the air. Basically it was like a few hours of the old show, but with no commercials and no censoring. I'm really glad we're keeping in touch.

Apparently Britney Spears isn't keeping in touch with her own sister because she had to find out about becoming an aunt from the tabloids!!! Will little Spears marry the father? Will the boyfriend get arrested for statutory rape? Will Drew Peterson end up like Scott Peterson, in jail? Will I find full time employment soon?

It's almost midnight which means it's tomorrow, the day after I heard the sad sad news. As Stan already mentioned, we keep waiting to hear Terry call us and laugh and say it's the wrong guy, because this can't really be true. OF COURSE Terry was at work today, which was where he was most of the time. Contrary to his humorous laid back attitude on the Stan and Terry Show, he was ALWAYS in the middle of the action. When he wasn't at The Cell watching his '05 World Champs or the Bulls, Bears and Hawks he was meeting publicists for celebrity interviews, volunteering as a judge at a martini contest, or rushing back to the office to do a phone interview with an up-and-coming comic. He loved this city, was known by people in every outlet which makes this city work. I will miss him planting a kiss on the top of my head and telling me he missed his Bonnie. Well, I miss my Terry.
